So on Friday, LJ roguishpaladin gave me a ride to NYC.  Unfortunately he wasn't able to get me till an hour later than intended due to packing for a CT Ren Fair.  Which means it was also too late for us to detour before NYC to pitch his tent at the Ren Fair before the club night.

Multiple night road work sites and frustration finding a parking spot later, we finally get to the club a little before 1.  I call DJ Storm, but he's still in a cab en route to Contempt.  Due to how early roguishpaladin had to be up for the Ren Fair, he had to leave early, but I at least got to quickly introduce the two men.

During the night itself, I though I saw LJ morbiqua with a man who had to have been LJ carcobydrates, but I didn't ask them if they were them.  First I was being withdrawn enough to even borrow the coat check's pen to write, Are you LJ morbiqua?, on the back of a flyer for next month's Contempt.  Then I was taking my time to even approach.  Then a guy started to talk to me.

During conversation, he asked if I've ever modeled before and I said no.  Inwardly I was thinking, isn't that a classic pick-up line?  He did give me a business card, but he also tried to hold my hand a few times even though I withdrew it.  Conversation definitely had enough tones to it that I wouldn't have the same interest in him as he does in me.

Outside of the club after lights went-up, DJ Storm was trying to gather his friends for breakfast.  The guy from earlier asked if I wanted to go to breakfast with his friends and I told him I've already promised to go with my friend, but since I know that statement isn't automatically exclusiary, I got DJ Storm's attention.  DJ Storm got the message from how I carefully worded my words, after it was too late, that his status as higher priority friend should be used to exclude the guy.

The guy walked ahead of DJ Storm and myself with the rest of the group for most of the walk from early-on.  So Storm got to ask if I trusted the guy and I told him I'd be fine with him as part of a larger group, but if I was alone, I'd just go to Port Authority and get the bus right away, even though I hate Port Authority.

Unfortunately the guy's friend was what skeeved-off one of Storm's friends (who didn't even stay with our group.)  I wouldn't have minded meeting her since for some reason, I noticed her a few times instead of the masses in the club before finding-out the connection to Storm.

So breakfast at 7A went ok.  The waitstaff attempted to claim that there wasn't a side order of fries so Spanky told the guy to get it, in Spanish.  Tia is a ball of hyper-squee energy whose family I don't want to be on the wrong side of (mostly the women), but as long as I'm not, would be interesting folk to meet.  (Never assume her grandma is a little, old lady to jack her purse off of, never.)

I talked about gay stuff, a lot, and mentioned the bf a few times, but the guy never bothered asking questions about the kind of relationship I have with the bf.  Even though I mentioned my (free) newspaper collection habit is partially to give them to a friend, the guy stated, stop collecting newspapers, and tried to crack jokes of, you're just using them to smoke, you hippy.  Storm and myself conversation had me mentioning the mostly lesbian, inflatable hot tub orgy, at Whitby, but the guy's interjection was about wondering what campus is this?

Storm, myself, and the guy, ended-up walking to Chinatown even though we were going to show me the closest subway stop to 7A.  Storm and myself went into a subway stop (not the Canal St stop that I need to orient myself to the bus for though) to get me a subway map.  The maps were all by the other entrance.  Instead of just ditching the guy, we decided to see if he was still at the entrance.  He wasn't.

We still wandered on foot instead of going back in to the station to take the subway.

We became pedestrian traffic on a bit of road that had no sidewalk.

At least I saw the Popeye's right by the Lucky Star stop.

I didn't have $1 bills and Storm didn't think the machines would accept $2 bills for a one-ride ticket.  If he had said they do, I would have suddenly offered to give him a $2 bill to take the subway closer to where ever his home is.

So I missed the 6:30 AM bus, but got the 7 AM.
