Michael Muhammad Knight, in order of being read:
The Taqwacores-I will have to re-read this with a copy of Islam for Dummies in one hand and a notepad to make a soundtrack based-on the songs mentioned in the book.
Osama Van Halen
Impossible Man-
The Five Percenters-It mentions a five percenter belief that Yacub created the white man by grafting him from the original black man and that the original black man is God, not some mystery god or spook. Except I don't see why I wouldn't view Yacub as a mystery anti-god.
Aaron Cometbus:
Despite Everything
Crimethinc:
Off the Map-Right now I'm not remembering the names of both the authors and feeling too tired to search for both names. My friend Sam described it as like On the Road, but more interesting. Considering I returned On the Road to my school library in high school because I was bored a few chapters in, it was a good thing the two women's real-life journeys were interesting.
Jane Rule:
Desert of the Heart-I tried to join a second book group and messed-up on the directions by mistyping the address into Google. Nice to see a book from 1964 have a happy ending with an old/young female pairing.
I'll post about books from my main book group later.
