A Vacation for Mourning

When I got home tonight, my mother told me that the woman who was the head of my Sunday School when I was a child died of cancer early Thursday morning.  The wake is Sunday and the funeral is Monday.  I don't have to worry about arranging time off of work since those are the first days of my three weeks of vacation.  The funeral is actually going to be at a different church so a specific minister can officiate.  (There's a history with the decease-d's church that explains why the minister's path crossed ours originally and why it's not good to have her officiate there.  Basically, the U.C.C. ordains openly gay ministers and individual churches can be very hostile to even interim-ministers.)
