9:15, Relevant?
Oct. 30th, 2006 11:59 pmRose at. . .8:15 since I needed to be at the bank at opening. The benefit of direct deposit is having checking and saving accounts minimums waived. The drawback is having to withdraw cash every once in awhile.
By the time I was ensembled and walked down to the place, it was a little bit after 9, but I still had time to get breakfast before work. As usual, I asked if they had half-dollar and dollar coins besides two dollar bills. One of the ladies said since no one's cleaned-out their sock drawers recently (most likely time for dollar coins to be turned-in), they only had a few dollar coins around. I have a bent where I'm trying to encourage people to use the coinage and bills by circulating them.
Since I didn't want to take much time looking at a menu when my bus was going to be the 9:50 bus (work started at 10:30 and the next bus would make me late), I just sat-down and asked for two scrambled eggs, wheat toast, homefries, and bacon with coffee right away.
I was done with plenty of time to spare.
At the bus stop, I pulled-out The Waybill, the Mystic Valley Railway Society Newsletter, for September through November. Within, I found-out that the Boston/Providence commuter rail route is going to get the funds to have some Saturday and Sunday service instead of just weekdays from 7/29/07 onward. Neat.
At work, I talked with my department manager about when to take my vacation. I was going to try for the week before Thanksgiving, but apparently next week is free. w00t! Meanwhile, I have three personal holidays and 24 hours of sick leave. She was starting to fret about when I need to take the PHs (none of these things can be rolled-over into next year), but I've pointed-out that I never told payroll when I told the deli I was going to be absent. So she's going to see if there's any days the PHs can be retro-actively applied to.
Started to read The Bridge, October/November on my first break with Cheez-Nips (original) and apple juice. Most of the articles make me want to scrawl editorial on the front of the paper.
The manager asked me if I could stay late and I stared at her for a moment, but realized I don't have a life so I might as well stay. So the shift that was scheduled till 6 became the shift that ended at 7:53. Catch was that I had to check-out for at least 15 minutes and back-in for a "lunch" break. Warned her I might take more time to deal with a box of Cheez-Its. Took a 30 minute break, this time with orange juice and got a Starbucks Cappucino bottled beverage that wouldn't be had until my last paid break.
At home, I'd work on the Metro Source for October/November and I still need to do the match game: take the photo of the gay character and match it with the correct show. I will only skim the mostly international events article.
I e-mailed a guy to see if he's doing anything for Halloween and asked if he doing any performances during my vacation break. An aunt now knows that I'll have time for driving instruction during that week.
